Working with Partnerships for a Healthier Community
The Democratic Club of Heritage Ranch is dedicated to serving our community through action and advocacy. We believe that citizens, in partnership with government, can help support those in need and create lasting change. By backing local initiatives that address food insecurity, homelessness, and essential services, we strive to build a more inclusive and compassionate community. Join us in making a difference.
Community Garden Kitchen of Collin County
We proudly support the Community Garden Kitchen of Collin County (CGK) in its mission to eliminate hunger in our community. Established in 2014 by a group of friends determined to address food insecurity, CGK has grown into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to serving fresh, healthy meals to those in need. With over 15% of Collin County residents living below the poverty line—and McKinney at the center of this crisis—CGK provides a critical resource to ensure that no one in our community goes hungry. Through this outreach project, we stand with CGK in fostering a healthier, more compassionate community for all. For more information, contact us.

Streetside Showers
In addition to addressing food insecurity, the Democratic Club of Heritage Ranch supports efforts to restore dignity and hygiene to those in need through the Streetside Shower Project. This vital service provides access to clean, private, and dignified shower facilities for individuals experiencing homelessness in North Texas. With five mobile shower trailers stationed across the region, each equipped with multiple stalls, sinks, toilets, and tankless hot water heaters, guests get a warm shower—something many take for granted.
Beyond hygiene, this initiative also provides donated supplies, including fresh socks, underwear, and a hygiene kit with every visit, helping restore comfort and dignity. By supporting the Streetside Shower Project, we contribute to a healthier, more compassionate community where everyone has the opportunity to experience dignity and renewal.
